WOW!!! What a game . . . I am so excited! This round has been our "doom" for the last several years and what a great feeling to overcome that obstacle!Meade struck first putting up 7 on the scoreboard! Oakley wasn't about to give up early and came back with a touchdown of their own and converting for the 2 putting them up 8-7. Both teams exchanged possessions several times before the Plainsmen struck again putting them up 16-7. The Buffaloes hung tight and put 6 more points on the scoreboard before half making the score 16-13 with two quarters left to play!
Both teams came out the 2nd half looking determined to take home the plaque. The Buffaloes found the endzone first making the score 19-16. They went on to score one more time putting them up 25-16. Not wanting to leave much room for hope for the Plainsmen the Buffaloes found the endzone one final time to make the score 33-16. The Plainsmen didn't quit and with the 4th quarter ticking away scored the final touchdown of the game which also became the final score! Meade 33 - Oakley 24!
This win advances us to the Sectional game against the Ellis Railroaders! Game time TBD!! Watch the blog for more details! Thanks to Darrel Manis for coming and "chalking" the design on the wall for us and to all of the grade school and junior high students for helping decorate! The stadium looked awesome!
