Blog Trivia Coming Soon!

Greetings Everyone!

I hope everyone survived Christmas and is looking forward to 2009.

To add some fun to my Prairie Images Blog, I will be starting something new in January! I will be hosting a Blog Trivia contest once a week! Each week on Sunday, I will post a trivia question on my blog! You will have until Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. to send me your answer. Everyone that sends me the correct answer(this can be via email, phone call, text) will be entered into a drawing for a Gift Certificate to the Studio! These questions will be very RANDOM questions and will not have a specific topic. First Trivia will be on Sunday, January 4th.

Each Week will have one potential winner and the Gift Certificate amount will be posted with the Trivia Question each week. If no one guesses correctly then the amount will be added to the next week's drawing!

Here are a few additional Rules and Guidelines:
**Trivia Answer must be received by Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
**All correct responses will be entered into the weekly drawing.
**The correct answer and winner will be posted on the blog Thursday each week.
**I will need your contact information to send the Gift Certificate.
**Trivia Gift Certificates will be specially marked. They are not transferrable, redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
**Gift Certificates can only be used on any Regular Scheduled Studio Session or Portrait Order. Special Portrait Days and Offers are excluded.
**Maximum of 5 Trivia Gift Certificates can be used on one session and they must be used by the expiration date.

Reflecting back on 2008 I have so many things to be thankful for! And you my faithful blog readers are on the top of the list! It is great to live in a community with so many supportive friends and clients.

Buffalo Hoops: Week 2

Hardwood action took place in the Cimarron Bluejay Invitational Pre-Season tournament for both the Lady Buffaloes and Buffalo Men! Both teams started play on Tuesday taking on the Satanta Indians! The Lady Buffaloes managed to hang on to the lead winning the first round to advance them to the Semi-Finals against the Elite 8 South Gray Rebels. The Buffaloes hung tight with the Rebels for the first half but South Gray came out in the 2nd half and took the win. This put the Lady Buffaloes up against Bucklin for the 3rd/4th Place game! They finished with 4th place! Congratulations to Hannah Hoffman for making the All-Tournament Team and also winning the 3 point contest!



In boys action, the Buffaloes defeated Satanta in first round action to also put them in the Semi-Finals against the South Gray Rebels. Both teams were very evenly matched and it came down to the wire to determine a winner. Kellen Hernandez drained a 3 pointer to tie the game but the Rebels were able to get the ball in bounds and down the court to hit a layup with 2 seconds left to take the win! This put the Buffaloes in the 3rd/4th place game against the Deerfield Spartans. Both teams battled evenly in the first half with the score being very close. Second half action saw the Buffaloes widen the gap and finally pull ahead to secure the 3rd place victory. Congratulations to Taylor Headrick and Kyle Ross(who was also named Tournament MVP) for making the All-Tournament Team!




Week 3 action finally gives the Buffaloes their only home game before the Christmas Holiday! Tuesday they will host the Bucklin Red Aces and Friday they will travel to Mullinville to take on the Haviland Dragons. Come Support your Buffalo teams!

Meade Buffaloes vs. Cimarron Bluejays

Hardwood action debuted at Cimarron with the Buffaloes taking on the Bluejays! The Buffaloes showed their strength and talent jumping out to a 23-2 lead by the end of the first quarter! The Buffaloes never looked back and 4th quarter saw the reserve players on the court to finish the game out! Final Score Meade 52, Cimarron 27.

Next week the Buffaloes travel to the Pre-Season Tournament to be held at South Gray and Cimaroon High Schools. Both the Boys and and girls will play Tuesday at South Gray! Girls tip off at 3:00 and Boys at 4:30. The tournament will continue on Thursday at South Gray and Saturday in Cimarron. Times to be determined!

Hoops and Hardwood: Week 1

All right Buffalo fans it's time to break out the purple again . . . I know, I know you just got it put away . . . well that was the first mistake .. you should never put away BUFFALO PURPLE!!!

The bus heads north to Bluejay territory to take on Cimarron in the season opener! JV Teams play at 4:45 with varsity action starting at 6:30. Come out and support the Buffaloes!

That "C" Word . . .

Like it or not Christmas is coming . .. yes I said it . . . CHRISTMAS!!! Every year I am amazed at how fast December arrives. . . one of the nearby radion stations must have REALLY been ready because they started playing Christmas music a week BEFORE Thanksgiving . .. that's just not right! I like Christmas music and all . . . but a month of it is plenty . . . no need to get it jump started before then!

So now that I have officially announced that Christmas season is here. . . Have you finished your shopping??? Shopping can be a grueling task . . . especially for those hard to buy for people on our lists. . . So what is the solution?? I usually resort to a gift certificate/gift card to their favorite place. . .

Friday Night Lights: Week 12

WOW. . . Where do I start! Maybe I should mention the 50+ rolls of crepe paper that we decorated the town with this year . . . or maybe I should mention the 30 pizzas, bbq beef sandwiches, tacos, subs, sloppy joes that were consumed during the course of this 12 weeks by our senior boys each game day. . .or do we even dare to add up the miles we put on our vehicles. . . Does any of that matter? To sum this phenomenal season up I'll start with this . . .

To our coaches. . . Thank you for taking care of our kids! Your passion for the game and pride in our kids will always be remembered. To the managers. . . Thank you for your dedication to this team, because we all know what a thankless job it can be sometimes! To the fans and spectators . . . Thank you for your following of this great group of kids and showing your support to them. But most of all . . . Thank you to our players . . . Our sons, grandsons, nephews, and friends. Thirteen Seniors, Five Juniors, Twelve Sophomores, Eleven Freshmen, 3 managers and 4 dedicated coaches that spent hours upon hours, week after week, practicing and conditioning to bring us this season. You made us whistle, you made us holler, you made us cry, but most of all you made us proud!

It is hard to even describe the feelings of excitement and emotion that have gone through us this past 12 weeks. . . but I guess we can just sum it up by waying . .. WOW . .. What a ride!

Meade Buffaloes vs. Smith Center Redmen

The team we've heard so much about for several years is coming to town on Friday! Brave the cold and bring your Buffalo Spirit because we want the stands to rock! Make signs and posters and bring with you to hold up showing your spirit! Kick off is at 6:00 p.m.

Tailgating starts at 3:00. Bring your food and Brian will grill it! It's also LetterJacket night . .. soooo all you alumni . .. dig in the closets and find those letter jackets. . . hopefully they still fit :-D

The Music Man

WOW!!! What a performance! The Music Man came to town under the direction of Brandon Haynes and Polly Hughes! These students have worked very hard the last couple of months to get ready for this performance and what a great job they did! If you missed Saturday's performance then you still have another chance to see this great production! It will be performed again on Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. Come out and support the music kids.
