Basketball Fever. . .

The 2008 portion of Basketball Season is well underway with a jam packed schedule in January . . . having kids in both JH and HS makes life a bit interesting and we started off on January 3, 2008 with the 1st game of 10 in the 16 days to follow. . . Does that make you tired just reading? I can only sympathize with those that also get to travel on Saturdays for the Rec Ball as well . . . whew. . .

I'm a bit behind in my blog posting . . . so I'll just kind of hit all of this in one big post. . . Both MHS and MJH boys remain undefeated. . . The MHS Boys have defeated Jetmore on 1/4, Sublette on 1/8 and Minneola on 1/11. Sublette was a handful and put our boys to the test but we dug deep and found our game coming from 13 behind to defeat them by 1 point. Brandt Rogers stepped up and scored 29 points to lead the Buffaloes. Next week the Greensburg Rangers travel to Meade on Tuesday(1/15), and on Friday(1/18) the Buffalo Men travel to Fowler for an in-county rivalry that always proves to be an exciting contest.

The MJH Boys continued their winning streak with a busy schedule as well. They started off with an easy win over Bucklin on 1/3, a win over South Gray on 1/7 and to round out the Regular Season the MJH Buffaloes fought hard to hang on to their undefeated status by beating Ashland on 1/10 in an overtime thriller. Prior to the game, the Junior High Gymnasium was dedicated to the coach we lost in September, Mr. Parcel. What a way to end the Regular Season. This means tournament time for MJH and the Jr. Buffaloes will face Jetmore in the first round of the Tourney @ 6:45 on Monday!

Both JH and HS Girls teams followed the same schedule as above. . . they continue to fight hard and have showed alot of determination in this packed schedule. The MHS Lady Buffs came from behind and showed they can compete by defeating Jetmore 51-48. That same luck unfortunately couldn't be found at Sublette as the Larks defeated our girls in a very physical contest. The Lady Buffaloes found themselves back in the win column at Minneola on Friday with a hard earned victory.

The JH girls fought hard against Bucklin and South Gray but couldn't seem to find a win. They finished out their Regular season with an easy win over the Ashland Bluejays on Thursday. Going into the final tournament with a 4th seed the Jr. Lady Buffs played their first round of tournament action yesterday taking on the Greensburg Rangers. They came out ready to play with an easy 35-2 victory and will take on the South Central Timberwolves on Monday!

The JH League Tournament will be played in Meade on Monday and Thursday in the newly dedicated Duane Parcel Gymnasium. Come out and show your support to our Buffaloes.
